The day I took time-off

Today I took a day off, washed the car (finally!), did some banking, went to gym and had a good lunch at The Apartment. While having pasta at The Apartment, I thought ‘Oh this is such a perfect day. I did my chores (yang dah tertangguh sekian lama) and burned enough calories so that I could pig out today and tomorrow’… hahahaha. Well, yeah the day was absolutely perfect and I was such in a good mood.

After a plate of tossed pasta and two glasses of iced mocha latte, I headed to my favorite stores for some window shopping. And that happened to be such a wrong thing to do today. After more than 3 months of being an IT Bangla, I totally forgot that I am a compulsive shopper and at times I can be extremely compulsive I’d just pretend I didn’t remember my bank balance or my credit card limit.

So today, after 2 hours of window shopping at The Curve and Ikano, I drove home with empty wallet (except for the RM1.60 to pay LDP toll I stashed somewhere in the car). Maybe I shouldn’t list everything I bought here. Among the things worth mentioning are: a black blouse from Uluwatu (wey korang, Uluwatu ada sale lagi lah!), a pair of jeans, a sea blue shirt (I never have anything sea blue in the wardrobe, okay) and an iPod Nano. Hahahaha …. I have a new iPod Nano, yeahooooo! (Sapa yang nak jealous, boleh jealous puas-puas.)

Thank god I decided not to go to Borders, otherwise the list will be much longer.
Somebody needs to register me for a personal money management course or just send me to be hypnotized in order to make me a wiser spender. Well, I’m supposed to be more enterprise minded this year, well at least that’s one of the resolution that I have yet to put in my 2008 diary. Since I don’t really love my job anymore, I should be disciplining myself to become a businesswoman soon, right? Although I have yet to come up with a business plan or what am I going to sell, I still think it’s the way to go for me. Hehehe.

But all these compulsive buying and over spending are not good signs.

Most of the times, we dream and plan and then dream some more and plan and plan and plan. But life always has different plans for us, or we just call it destiny. Just when I thought it’s the best time to start going independent (that is, berhenti kerja makan gaji and cari duit sendiri), the management made me Technical Team Leader and that makes me eligible to become one of the candidates for the management team.

Haiyyaaa…. Why you all have to put me in this dilemma? I was so sure I have lost interest to climb the corporate ladder, but now the story has been twisted and the next few chapters will surely have to be re-written – again. Yeah, I thought I have gone through these 3 years ago, now I have to relive it. *Sigh*. Wish me luck people! I’ll be back and join the boardroom fights, just like old days…

Oh yeah, boardrooms are synonymous with new wardrobe of corporate cloths. Hmmmm.....

Lanie,
my mgr congratulated me and said 'be prepared to lose your popularity'. Gosh, I love my popularity and now I have to sacrifice it for an additional of a few hundreds in my pay check. Life is unfair. Hehehehe.

Redhead,
hey, let's go do some serious shopping in London. Tell me when the BIG SALE is. If I don't have enough money for the flight ticket, maybe we can go shop in Singapore... hahahaha.
